Summer resort - Ötztal bicycle marathon
The Ötztal Bicycle Marathon is the bicycle challenge for every bicycle racing enthusiast. 238 km and 5,500 meters of altitude must be traveled in just a few hours. The challenging distance over the 4 alpine passages (Kühtai, 2,020 m; Burner, 1,370 m; Jaufenpaß, 2,090 m; and Timmelsjoch, 2,509m) force the participants to their maximum output in North and South Tyrol. Three climate zones, with a diverse and varied weather - from snow fall by the end of August, to mild, southern temperatures – it has everything to offer. 4,000 bike aficionados line up at the start line to give their best. The Ötztal Bicycle marathon is now considered a successful classical event in the meeting series of the well-known Sölden tourism location, as well as in the cycle racing scene.
