The secret gate to the south - an ideal starting point for routes on the North-South axis. One of the better known passage routes of the Alps awaits you at the Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstrasse in Obergurgl Hochgurgl, right in front of the hotel door. At the highest pass transition of the East Alps you will find spectacular sightseeing points, probably the most beautiful natural sights of the Alps, crystal-clear brooks and traditional hostels. More than 60 irresistibly curves offer you an unforgettable driving experience, which are a secret tip for cabrios, motorcycles or mountain bikes. The road is open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, approximately by the end of October.

The hollow stone at Vent (2,050 m) is a hunter and a shepherd station of the stone age (8th to the 4th millennium B.C.). Archaeological excavations at Vent have shown that already by 8,000 B.C. the region belonged to the hunting grounds of middle Stone-age hunters and gatherers.
