Gastronomy - Alignment/herbs
Hippocrates said once: "Your food should be your medicine." We focus on sustainability and naturalness in the preparation of our dishes, because food is a mean of life, a part of nature, which we must heed and respect. Our dishes are an energy source, from which we draw every new day energy and vitality. Therefore, in the Wiesental Hotel we give great importance to natural, regional and biological products as well as to a careful preparation.
For example, we cook without taste reinforcers such as sodium glutamate, artificial additives, baking raising agents or ultra pasteurized milk. This is one of our "secrets" for incomparable benefit, which blend flavor and well-being.
Fresh herbs are the Alpha and Omega of each dish. They are not only spices, but they are also medicines. Here we draw from traditional knowledge and the teachings of ancient medicine. Nature is also our garden, right in front of our hotel, and it provides us with natural herbs, flowers and plants, such as dandelion or elder, which we collect and re-use. Regarding those ones which do not grow with us due to the altitude, they are produced with much love by grandma Scheiber in her herb garden in Imst, and we bring them fresh every day to Obergurgl.
